So you’ve done whatever it takes to research and develop a plan for your home business. With a well thought out plan, you have your domain names and keywords or keyword phrases in place. You are starting to work on your website. You may have one or more “landing pages”. This is the first thing your traffic leads or business opportunities see when they come to your site.

There is a common pitfall that you want to avoid when designing your landing pages.

Be careful what language you use.

I am not speaking of bad words. I’m not talking about misspelled or out of sync words or sentences.

What we are talking about here are pages that are not really designed for your readers. Often times, many websites are very difficult to understand or understand. The design of a website must take into account its readers.

You want your visitors or business opportunities to enjoy their experience of being there, but what I’m focusing on has to do with the content of your page (s) and its readability.

Neither of us likes to land on someone’s site and the content is boring or reads like a dictionary or encyclopedia. Either that or maybe it has become cluttered with keywords, making it incoherent or difficult to read.

Your content should be in a format that is easy to understand and your site visitor can get good information from it. Your content must be completely focused on your visitors.

You know and I know that we have all experienced what I am talking about … many times. A good way to avoid this is to imagine that you are conversing with someone close to you. How exactly do you express yourself when you have conversations with someone on the phone? You need to think about this for a moment. It is in the way you talk to others that you want to write your own content. It is an expression and an extension of yourself. When you explain something to others … How do you convey it?

The process may be difficult at first, but it gets easier. Expressing what you would like to convey translates to a more personalized website or landing page.

The content design of your site is just as important as the graphics and colors you use in your design. This also includes the fonts you use. If you are building your website with SEO (search engine optimization) in mind (which you should be doing), you need to make sure to include your keywords and keyword phrases in your content as well. This makes your task a bit more difficult. However, if you have to pick and choose, the way to go is fewer keywords and better content. Remember that everything you do is designed to create leads or customers for your business or home business opportunity.
