There is something lovely about taking a piece of wood and doing something useful with it. It provides a wonderful sense of accomplishment, especially when the project is for someone you care about. I remember starting out in a swan rocking chair a couple of years ago when my children were still young.
I was going to surprise them with these great rocking chairs they would always remember, so I believed it. You see, I borrowed a book from my local library that had a couple of free carpenter blueprints and got stuck due to lack of detail in the plan. I was very irritated; I just gave up, and now, I missed my window for building those rocking chairs for my girls.
Good carpenter plans for any project are important; This is especially true for those of us who only have intermediate to amateur level woodworking skills. What percentage of you have experienced the same because of poorly written, illustrated, or just plain wrong instructions? I’m guessing a lot about you. Without a good set of plans, you can also drive down the line and throw your hard-earned money out the window as you go. Let me tell you directly that FREE is not always better, especially when it comes to woodworking plans.
