Starcraft 2 is an unreleased real-time strategy game that has been in development for many years. Since the original Starcraft title was released nine years ago, the game has built a very strong fan base. The first installment is one of the most successful titles in the history of video games with more than nine million copies sold worldwide.

Starcraft 2 is currently in beta mode with a few thousand approved testers solving any issues and balance issues the game may have. There are three main races in the game, which is exactly like the first pitch. Blizzard has decided to keep the original three races at the end. So we will see the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss rush back to fight each other once more.

Finally, the game will be called Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Unlike the first title, Part 2 will see the campaign focusing on a race per pitch. Wings of Liberty will tell the story of the Terran race. Two other expansion packs called Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will tell the stories of the Zerg and Protoss respectively.

Each available race will likely repeat the roles they had in the initial game. The Zerg will emphasize expansion, while the Earthlings will remain a complicated and quite defensive race. Protoss, on the other hand, produce some of the best units in the game. However, they are very expensive.

Some units that fans have grown to love will return in Starcraft 2. The Protoss have their Zealots (with some upgrades), High Templars (Psionic Storm) and Archons. Units like Dragons, Aircraft Carriers, and Scouts have been replaced by new units that play more or less the same role.
