Have you ever wondered why rents are so high? Well, people with income properties are dealing with supply and demand, as supply remains constant due to ROI challenges to build new apartments, and demand increases, prices will not go down. What many do not understand is that all this Agenda 21 or now called Agenda 2030 that infiltrates its recommendations to the levels of cities throughout the country, this advice appears in the building codes and regulations. There does not appear to be any slowdown of these regulations at the local level, even if the Trump Administration complies with the reduction of the Federal Regulation.
Even at the federal level, there are plenty of experts who want to stand firm on regulations, actually believing they’re helping save the planet. Consider if you want this fact: The Government Accounting Office published a report on January 3, 2017 titled; “Improved Federal Coordination Could Facilitate Use of Forward-Looking Climate Information in Design Standards, Building Codes, and Certifications,” Posted: Nov 30, 2016 and Publicly Posted: Jan 3, 2017 (GAO-17-3).
This GAO report cited above assumes we have extreme climate change right now, and assumes humanity’s CO2 emissions are causing it, neither of which is proven. This is yet another indication that climate alarmists have infiltrated all parts of the US government bureaucracy and want to institute UN Agenda 21-style ‘sustainability’ in all future construction. .
Our unions want to control that by being the only training venue for these new standards, specifically LEED Certification. By the way, for your information, LEED = “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a rating system devised by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to assess the environmental performance of a building and encourage the transformation from the market towards sustainable design.” (Quote: Google definitions on the search page).
In many areas, you can only earn a LEED certification by attending a Union-sponsored tradesman workshop or course. You could go to college, but that would take quite a bit of time and if you’re a tradesman you’d need all of your lower division credits first, which is tough for someone who started a trade right out of high school. Of course, if you go to a union store for training, you will either be recruited by the union, you will already be paying what you owe the union, or you will have to pay a fee to attend, thus supporting the union. Unions often support left-wing political candidates and themselves lobby and finance socialist and left-wing politicians.
If only union tradesmen can work in construction in the future, this drives up the cost of new homes and buildings and burdens Americans with financial burdens. It hurts home ownership and increases business costs. It’s killing America, and here the GAO is helping slow growth. What we need is a change, but that change has to come from within and at all levels of government, a new philosophy is needed, and it is needed now. Without it, there are definitely warm storm clouds on the economic horizon, and they have nothing to do with Global Warming. Please think about this.
