You don’t love “I’m Bored”, children complain all year about having to go to school but as soon as they have free time they get bored. How do we parents fight against this inevitable boredom? Well, we could do exactly what they want us to do and let them watch TV and play video games for two weeks straight or we could find some fun activities that the whole family can do together.
There are tons of different things you can do with your family during the holiday season that will not only keep you entertained but also create great memories and traditions. As a kid, I remember making our own Christmas tree garland out of Cheerios and popcorn. This was mostly out of necessity, as we didn’t have a lot of money to buy decorations, but whatever the reason, it still created great bonding experiences.
These days, with the power of the Internet, the ideas are endless. Here are some of my favorites.

These are just a few of the ideas I found, with a bit of searching I’m sure you can find many, many more. Every idea is just that it is an idea always encourage your kids to use their imagination and take the ideas and make them their own. You can take a general idea and change it to fit your family’s traditions.
In thirty years, most kids won’t remember what they got for Christmas, but they probably will remember the time you spent with them and the traditions you created.
