The purpose-built complex of Costa Teguise is located on the south coast of Lanzarote, 3 miles from Arrecife and 20 minutes from Lanzarote airport.

The second most popular tourist center on the island of Lanzarote, Costa Teguise is home to five beautiful beaches. Las Cucharas is a crescent-shaped stretch of sandy beach with calm, clear waters and is the resort’s main beach. Famara is quite wild and very popular with surfers. Bastian beach is the most sheltered and popular with families, especially those with small children. Jablillo beach and Ensenada beach are much smaller compared to the other three beaches in the complex.

Due to its excellent conditions for water sports, enthusiasts are drawn to Costa Teguise. Windsurfing is the main water sport here, as the area has a windy climate. There are a few windsurfing schools at the resort, making the sport available to beginners and experts alike. Many of the hotels in the complex are located on the beach, making Costa Teguise an ideal place for families on beach holidays.

Children will not only enjoy the wonderful beaches here, they will also love the local water park and the Rancho Texas theme park located near Puerto del Carmen.

Costa Teguise is a good base for exploring the whole of Lanzarote. In the north of the island are the fishing villages of Arrieta and Órzola and the fascinating volcanic lava caves of Cuerva de los Verdes and Jameos de Agua. Inland from Costa Teguise are Lanzarote’s old capital Teguise and the new capital Arrecife and also the town of Guatiza which has a brilliant cactus garden.

For golf lovers there is the best-known 18-hole golf course in Lanzarote.

There are a few nightspots here, but most nights are spent relaxing in one of the resort’s restaurants, cafes, or bars.

Costa Teguise enjoys good weather all year round, but the beaches here are windier than those on the other Canary Islands. Temperatures here are stable throughout the year, rarely falling below 20°C and reaching highs of around 28°C in July, August and September, and with between 7 and 9 hours of sunshine a day.

Last minute winter holidays in Costa Teguise are just as enjoyable as summer holidays due to the resort’s stable weather conditions.
