The strength of a go kart’s frame is the underlying factor for the foundation of your go kart. So you can’t really avoid this aspect. The other name used for this frame is chassis. The utility of this chassis is that it makes the tire grip the ground firmly. So it helps you to assemble it quickly and comfortably.

This chassis is made of steel and is generally fixed to the axles, and strongly supports the kart. The chassis works exactly like the suspension of a car. As you run, you may have to take several turns. So for this reason you need a strong, flexible and durable frame.

Mainly there are 4 types of go kart frames found in the market. These frame shapes are generally used on different types of karts and are open, caged, straight, and offset. In the case of caged frames, you will find a roll cage that helps you avoid all kinds of accidents. It also reduces damage.

While the open frame is not as strong as the caged one, so it is not used much. Straight frames are the ones where the driver sits in the middle. These frames are generally seen in the sprint type.

In the offset box, the driver sits on the left side of the kart. These types of frames can be seen in sprint races. These frames are made in such a way that in any type of left turn this chassis will not break and grip the ground strongly.

Not all types of go kart frames suit all types of tracks. Just like for the dry track, you need to have a rigid frame. But the level of rigidity in the frame should not be very high as it tends to break.
