Research reveals that the brain has a biological mechanism to block unwanted memories

For the first time, researchers from Stanford University and the University of Oregon have shown that there is a biological mechanism in the human brain to block out unwanted memories.

The findings, to be published on January 1. 9 in the journal Science, reinforce Sigmund Freud’s controversial centennial thesis on the existence of voluntary memory suppression.
