I have personally experienced the wonderful return of the dreaded mother’s curse! My wonderful and beautiful daughter who gave me a run for my money raising her, now she has 4 children of her own, ranging from 11 years old to a newborn. When my daughter was a teenager, she was pretty wild and she thought she could do whatever she wanted and that I was the dumbest person in the world. At the time she had a full time job, she was raising 2 children on her own and struggling to make ends meet. A typical 5ft 3in teenager with long brown hair and big blue eyes! YUCK!

His wonderful friends, now he had a couple of friends who were very nice and respectful, but the others… That’s another story, too long to tell. But with the trouble she was in and the fact that even cleaning her room was a chore, I was ready to pull my hair out. Finally one day I blew and said, one day you’re going to have children, and when you do I hope you have children like you and even a little worse… I paused and thought about that for a moment. Thinking that she should take it back a bit, I told her that I hope she has children as stubborn as her. I said it there; I promised myself I wouldn’t do that! My mom gave me the curse too, so here we go again. I also told him that there was a very wise person who said that nothing is apparent until you are a parent, and that is very true.

My daughter grew up despite me and has a wonderful and beautiful daughter who is 11 years old. She has beautiful long blonde hair, big blue eyes, and is more imposing than her mother. She is my precious girl; she has made my heart melt with the love and kindness she gives. But when she’s home, that’s another story. She doesn’t clean her room like my daughter did. So last Saturday, my daughter told the kids to go clean her room. Her oldest grandson went to her room and cleaned it with her 2 year old brother, the mother came in and vacuumed the floor and was very proud of them.

Meanwhile, my precious little granddaughter rebelled and sat on the living room sofa to watch television. Her stepfather and her mother desperately tried to get her to go into her room and clean it up. After Mom finished with the children’s room, she and her husband went into the living room, picked up the daughter by each arm and escorted her into the bedroom and demanded that she clean it up so they could vacuum. Then they closed the door and went to the living room to clean.

My amazingly beautiful granddaughter decided to let out a bloodcurdling scream that alerted even the neighbors. My daughter walked into the bedroom and told her that she wasn’t getting her anywhere with that attitude. Then there was a knock at the door, it was the police. They were called in to respond to a child being beaten or killed.

My daughter opened the door and laughed, she said yes officer, what can I do for you? The officer said they had some reports that a child was in danger there. She immediately went to the bedroom that my talented granddaughter was going to clean and told her that someone was there to see her. She went out to the room and there were the officers, they asked her if she had been beaten or mistreated in any way, they checked her to see if she had any injuries, then she had to explain why she let out that scream. She looked at them and said that she didn’t want to clean my room and that my mom was making me. The officers laughed and said you better start doing what your mom and stepdad want you to do. She then went into the bedroom and started cleaning.

So my daughter called me while she was very busy and told me what happened and that I needed to talk to her. I was laughing so hard remembering the day I gave her that curse, and hearing those words from her mouth. She just had to say it, there was no way around it, she just walked out… I told you! You should have listened to me! I gave you that curse, remember! I told you that one day you would have children and I hope they will be like you. She paused and said ok, now she talks to your granddaughter before she does something like that to her! Do you think she will give my precious, beautiful, talented granddaughter this dreaded curse? Probably.
