Sequoyah Lake is also connected to Thunderbird by a navigable channel that connects and allows boat access between Thunderbird Lake and Sequoyah Lake. The canal also provides boat access to the Gitche Gummee swimming beach at Sequoyah Lake.

All the lakes in the village are private and available to the owners and their guests. If you are staying in the village it is easy to get a guest pass to use the lake.
