If you’ve been a longtime fan of General Hospital, you probably quickly recognized Genie Francis in those Medifast ads. She played Laura on General Hospital for many years and is still known for being a part of some pretty dramatic storylines.

Genie Francis was a size 4 when she was in General Hospital in the 1970s, but more recently mentioned that she had hit a size 16 shortly after entering rehab for substance abuse in 2002. Now Genie, even at a higher weight , he’s lovely, but on his petite frame, a size 16 is definitely going to show.

So after committing to Medifast, Genie has lost just over 42 pounds and has kept it off. Now, sometimes I find it hard to believe that certain celebrities actually used the diet they are now working as spokespersons for. Many celebrities have access to private chefs and personal trainers. I would think anyone could lose weight with those benefits. But Genie seems down to earth and has even posted some of her struggles with the diet on her own Medifast page. And she definitely looks amazing now.

I think the only thing that levels the playing field between famous dieters and regular people like you and me is that Medifast really doesn’t require a lot of work. You have to stick exactly to the plan to be successful and that can be hard the first week, but you definitely don’t need a private chef or fitness trainer to help you. In fact, for at least the first couple of months, losing weight with Medifast is pretty easy, even if you don’t really exercise. In fact, they recommend not adding any strenuous activity to your routine for at least the first few weeks while you get used to the change in diet.

So if you’re wondering if you can do as well as Genie Francis on the Medifast diet, I think the answer is yes. All you need is a commitment to yourself that you will do the program as specified and you will achieve success. Fortunately, you don’t need an entourage to help you lose weight.
