I think your goal is to lose weight really fast and keep it off permanently. What’s the point of losing a lot of weight really fast, if you can’t keep it off, right? But the biggest problem people have is not that they can’t lose weight, it’s that they can’t maintain their weight. That is the biggest problem.

Unfortunately, diets are not very good for successful weight loss. You yourself have probably had success with a diet at first, but as time goes by it becomes much more difficult to lose weight. This always happens because weight loss is not always that simple.

For example, if your maintenance level is 2,000 calories and you cut your calories by 1,000 calories, then in a week that would add up to 7,000 calories, right? There are 3,500 calories in a pound of fat, so you would actually lose 2 pounds of fat in a week. This type of diet would be really successful, because it really is fast weight loss.

But the BIG problem with losing weight this way is that over thousands of years the human body has developed a foolproof weight regulation mechanism that detects food shortages and, in turn, reduces energy expenditure. All this is done to protect you from starvation. In other words, when you eat less, you burn less.

Second, weight loss is not fat loss. For example, if you can lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks, then you can be sure that maybe 50-60% of the weight you have lost is fat. Yes, you can certainly lose weight quickly with diets, but it’s not very smart to do this. Using diets to lose weight fast will never give you permanent results.
