Before the age of physical maturity, around the age of 25, our body is continuously growing and developing and during this phase the muscles and the whole body remain strong even without specific exercise. After turning 30, we basically have two options available. We can begin the long process of weakening or we can work to maintain our strength for the rest of our lives.

After this point, if the body does not receive the necessary stimulus to trigger muscle growth, a slow process of muscle wasting begins. This loss of muscle tissue accelerates the degenerative processes and conditions that characterize the dreaded aging process.

The muscles and bones to which they are attached weaken, the joints deteriorate without strong muscles to support and cushion them; metabolism slows down (the rate at which the body burns fuel) allowing body fat to accumulate; body shape and appearance change. All body systems are weakened, including the immune system, leaving one exposed to life-threatening diseases.

Anti-aging remedies and procedures are increasingly in demand to avoid the ravages of aging, but before complaining too much, we must remember that aging is a privilege that is denied to many.

However, this privilege does not come without its challenges.

Superficial changes on the outside can help one look and feel better, but aging younger really requires long-lasting methods that improve physical health on the inside. It is well proven that the elusive fountain of youth we all desire is actually in maintaining or rebuilding muscle strength.

Proper exercise is important if you want to regain your youth. Recreational-type activities such as walking, jogging or biking, etc., will not challenge the muscles enough to rebuild lost strength. Proper exercise means strength training exercise using the correct exercises, with the correct level of intensity, with the correct duration and the correct frequency. Anything less is unlikely to give you the results you are looking for.

Obviously, you are not born with this knowledge and you will need to seek the help of a fitness professional to help you set up your program, teach you the correct exercise technique, and teach you how to get the most out of your program. It is also important that your progress is monitored and that the program is modified and changed along the way. If you continue doing the same exercises as always, your progress will stop.

The very good news is that no matter how old you are when you start out, 60-year-old muscles respond to strength training in exactly the same way that 20-year-old muscles respond – they get stronger. It is easily possible to become 100 to 175 percent stronger, even stronger than you have ever been in your life.

Imagine the possibilities; Imagine having this new strength and energy to pursue your hobbies, start new careers, and travel. Get active or get very active and pack each day with so much more life. The opposite should not be considered, do nothing and experiment less and less until finally there is no more.

Start your journey now, you will never regret it. Everything is there for you, just reach out, take it and make it yours.
