It’s important to note that the rainy season can be a bit tricky to navigate in some of these safari destinations. It can cause problems with logistics as road conditions can be poor and camp or lodge buildings could become flooded. If this happens you’ll need to take a detour to avoid getting stuck in the mud!
A few tips to keep in mind during the rainy season are: The vegetation in the bush is very thick and a lot of grasses grow tall, which can make it hard to spot animals. The humidity is high, so you’ll want to pack plenty of sunscreen and a light jacket.
Mosquitoes are very common and can carry malaria. Many safari camps and lodges in remote areas close for the rainy season, so you should do your homework to ensure your safari will continue during this time of year.
