Idol Days Sim Date is a dating simulation game that lets you take on the role of an aspiring rock star who wants to join a rock band. Being the only female in the group, your goal is to build a strong relationship with one (or more) of your male bandmates and date them.
It goes without saying that this game is aimed squarely at girls. It’s still a fun game to play, but I doubt straight male gamers would feel comfortable playing a game of this nature…
Before embarking on your adventure, you will have to choose the name and attributes of your female rock star. I named my character “Cassadee” after Cassadee Pope, who is a female rock star in her own right who sings in a band called “Hey Monday.” The attributes you will choose are her “Her Wisdom”, “Skill” and “Charm”. Choosing which attribute you’ll excel at the most will affect the guy you’ll ultimately date.
The game starts on a quiet note as your character enters the big city for the first time hoping to find a gang he can join. It just so happens that the first person you run into is a drummer in a rock band that needs a guitarist. Once you talk about yourself, he likes you and introduces you to the rest of his band.
From then on, you have 30 days to prepare for a big concert where the band will perform. In addition to trying to improve your guitar skills, it’s up to you to build a strong relationship with your male bandmates. Since you only had 30 days (which isn’t a long time in this game), I only spent the time building a relationship with a single gang member.
In those 30 days it’s up to you to develop your “Charm”, “Wisdom” and “Skill” while trying to please one of the boys in your band. Just like in a real relationship, you can’t just ask to go out with the guy without getting to know him better.
It was really funny when I chose to say “Date” and the guy responded by saying it was too early to start dating. It’s up to you to try and talk to the guy you want to date to get to know him better and build a relationship so you can start dating before the big concert in 30 days.
In those 30 days you can start earning money by working in a fast food joint or in a record store. Earning a little money can be a good way to buy gifts for your potential boyfriend. Before you do that, pay to pick a guy you’d like to know more about and start talking to him.
This is how the rest of the game plays out. Once you’ve talked enough with a certain guy, he’ll start to like you, then you can date him. Buying him gifts is a good way to build a strong relationship with him faster as the days go by.
Once you’ve gone on a date with him, you’ve pretty much reached the top of this sim dating game. Now you’re ready to hit the stage and rock out with your band.
Surprisingly, I liked Idol Days Sim Date. It wasn’t as boring and silly as I initially thought it would be. It may very well be the best dating sim game I’ve ever played. If you are a young girl, you will definitely have fun playing this game.
