Big bosses and weight loss

I’ve had many jobs over the years and what I appreciate most (even more than winnings or awards) is the opportunity to work with great people. Many times that came in form or teammates and I always tried to hire greatness. But the ones I am most grateful for are the ones who hired me and guided me.

Included in this article and following this brief mention of some great leaders, I will provide you with an empowering insight on weight loss. So if you’re looking for an ideal body image, losing weight, or just looking for another weight loss tip, keep reading. We hope the feedback on our top bosses will inspire you to keep going on your weight loss journey.

Andy was my first sales manager. Andy led me to win the Scripps Howard Regional Award, circa 1975. “I won because I run” was my motto. I literally think I sold more because of a simple dynamic: I ran between the houses. It gave me more people to sell to and when I got there I was breathing hard so my pitch came through with more energy. I won because I run.

Trainers Sam Vicelli, John Deans, Bobby Gray and Vince Celtnics. Soccer coaches: high school and college. These men inspired me, guided me, and physically demanded of me what no one else has done since. Thank you for going above and beyond and providing benchmarks that I rely on on a daily basis. I know I was probably a pain in the ass, but we won a lot of games and I hope your memories of my contributions are positive. JD DEP.

Kathy, Sales Manager Real Estate Trainers. She gave me a start in California and led me to obtain my California Real Estate Broker’s License and my NASD Series 7 – Full Stockbroker Registration. I never wanted to use either in a professional sense, but she enabled me to excel at selling in those markets and gave me a solid business perspective. Many apologies to this class act as I can’t remember her last name.

Roy Clarke. Owner, SRI Associates. As a young recruiter, this guy made me feel uncomfortable in my sales efforts. He hated it and I’m grateful.

Dino Farfante / Bob Brennan. Both vice presidents of sales, Merisel. Premium leadership that focused his teams on customer intimacy and operational excellence. These 2 were classics and still are – both running successful companies (one worth billions) today.

Gregg Wilkes. Director of Sales, US Robotics. It was one of the main reasons USR was the best company I ever worked for. They stepped on the gas, had a 64% market share, and would work around the clock to get another quarter point. His genius, coupled with his passion for the client, remains second to none in my experience. Casey Cowell was a great CEO.

Mike Pickett, President Merisel. More competitive than anyone I know.

Bob Lepore, vice president of Ingram Micro. Bob has a unique approach to things. He’s insightful and sincere, but he plays his cards long term. A good man and a high quality business executive.

Jeremiah Stead. CEO, Ingram Micro. I wish more leaders recognized the value of people.

Simon Worth. CEO QAS, Inc. started the company and sold it to Experian after our days together. A sincere and refreshing (to put it mildly) man that I would love for him to be my best friend. He was someone she would walk through any door with because his approach was so pure and direct, yet demanding.

Dick Bosworth and David Talarico, Director of Sales and Vice President of Sales, Kofax. I mention them hand in hand because they worked hand in hand. If you’ve ever been in sales, you know that life is always better when you’re in triple digits, when you’re hitting your number, and over 100%. These guys were practitioners who knew how to get there. Collectively, they probably have more than 50 years of experience selling business solutions to large companies.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with each of these people and for the positive impact they have had on my life. When it comes to weight loss, you need to have a positive impact on your life. The idea of empowerment is capturing a compelling vision of your future self. If you saw yourself, the new you, how you would look AFTER losing weight, you would be extremely excited. The vision of the new you would inspire, motivate and yes, empower you to make small daily changes in your life.

Let the vision empower you!
