In the extensive research for my new book and DVD, Secret Societies: Gardiner’s Forbidden Knowledge, Revelations About the Freemasons, Templars, Illuminati, Nazis, and the Serpent Cults, I found that, historically, the secret societies of the world are all connected and connected. they all derive from a similar source, if not the same, and that the threads that run through them have all been traced by scholars over the centuries.
As Le Couteulx de Canteleu said in his Les Sectes et Societes Secretes published in 1863: “All secret societies have almost analogous initiations, from the Egyptian to the Illuminati, and most of them form a chain and give rise to others.”
According to an article published in the 1922 Patriot by GG or ‘Dargon’, entitled “The Anatomy of the Revolution”,
“For centuries certain schools of mystical philosophy have existed (with) … Elements of Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, and Egyptian occultism mixed with Greek mysteries, Jewish Kabbalism, and fragments of ancient Syrian cults. From the hodgepodge of Eastern philosophy, magic, and mythology arose .. Gnostic sects, and after the rise of Mohammedanism, heretical sects … The ideas that inspired political-religious movements of the Middle Ages such as the Illuminati, Albigenses, Cathari, Waldenses Troubadours, can be traced to the same sources. Anabaptists and Lollards and the rise of the first secret societies. The Templars are said to have been initiated by the Assassins into anti-Christian and subversive mysteries, and we find similar traces of an ancient and occult origin in the alchemists, the Rosicrucians, and later mystical cults. “
This “analogous” form that runs through all secret societies is the underlying belief and cult of the stars. It is this element that named them the brilliants and it is this element that is still at the root of so much misinterpreted symbolism. Even the sacred vehicles were “sages” who had the sun and stars as symbols of power. This cult of the stars was known as Sabaeism and the great Mason, Albert Pike, noted: “The seven great primitive nations, from which all others descend, the Persians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Egyptians, Turks, Indians and Chinese, all they were originally saberists and worshiped the stars. “
The very power of understanding the stars was jealously guarded by priests from all over the world, from the Aztecs to the Egyptians. The role of the priest was to interpret the movements of the stars, the sun and the moon, to predict the future and for navigation. This jealousy forged ciphers, codes and symbols and forced to hide and destroy implements and tools of the trade. Many of the Masonic symbols that we see today were never designed for construction, they were intended for astrology and the logic of the stars.
These secrets of the stars were mystical to primitive people who could not understand magic. The secrets were transmitted from generation to generation by initiates and adepts and thus the long thread was woven, transmitting the knowledge and keeping it hidden. Finally, the secret brotherhoods no longer knew why they kept their strange symbols secret and why they said strange invocations. Yet through tradition and dedication to their brethren, they kept a rich tapestry alive, a tapestry that I and other scholars can tear apart and interpret.
Hidden history
We must pull hard on the thread to untangle the tapestry, one generation at a time. According to Le Couteulx de Canteleu, the priests or leaders of the organizations followed the Egyptian hierarchy. At the highest level, there was the priest, who was the only one who could do magic and contact the gods. In the second, we find the greatest initiates, the elect of the people, who must keep the secret at all costs and protect the priesthood. In the third, minor initiates were only told what was deemed appropriate.
In this hierarchical trinity, we see the plan of most, if not all, of the world’s secret societies. Most of the Masons today fall into the category of junior initiates; they do not seek more because they do not know more. Only in the highest degrees of Freemasonry are the true secrets revealed and yet there have been some who claim to have been higher-level initiates or indeed ‘priests’ and who have since ‘spilled the beans’. Anyone who has seen these so-called white gold powder secrets and even Jewish conspiracies will know that this is misinformation at best and money making at worst.
Lessons for today
Each generation tends to look forward, forgetting that our past contains intelligent and thought-provoking answers to questions that are and will always be relevant. Because we start each generation anew, we don’t see the thread that runs through each generation from the previous one: the secret society thread.
In the 20th century, psychology and psychoanalysis emerged, and the clever new words that accompanied them. Yet why are we arrogant enough to believe that we uncover the root of human psychological problems? This is utter nonsense: Psyche herself was a Greek goddess.
For thousands of years, man has searched for answers to the enigmas of his own inner reality; the only radical change is the wording. When we say that a person is psychotic, our ancestors would have said that they were touched by spirits. Are we more advanced than our ancestors?
90% of the world’s population still believe in God, yet we continue to rage war in the name of religion, pollute the environment, and destroy our own homes. There is anthropological evidence that shows that ancient man was peaceful, lived in harmony with his neighbor, and respected the earth and lived in balance with it. As populations grew and more people occupied smaller spaces, minor wars and even violent sacrifices broke out. Small groups of men came together to control those who fought, and these small groups emerged as our kings and queens, healers and priests, and our secret societies.
Here is a lesson for all of us. Just 100 years ago, one billion people lived on the planet. Now, there are six billion and they keep growing. Six billion people can do a lot of harm to themselves and the environment, destroying everything for everyone. Without balance, without wisdom, without knowledge, where do we go?
We may believe that some spark in the biochemical and electrical brain is enlightenment, but it is not. Our teachers tell us how to be, what to buy, what to do and say. We no longer need to know ourselves, television has all the answers. And yet what we see on television is a reflection of greed, money and capitalism and these can be interpreted as the dark forces of human nature. Light and dark are opposite sides of the same coin. Balance is wisdom, like a coin placed on its edge, and like a coin, it can be easily tipped over.
I wish a good life that does not include a range of cars, a yacht in every port or another million. I am realistic, and the reality is that while one man has, another does not. My evolutionary instinct is to gather goods, property and wealth for the bad times ahead, to help me get through the winter or the coming storm. The downside to this is that we develop that divisive side of our nature, greed, and someone somewhere suffers. We join forces with others and keep our newfound cabal a secret, protecting it until time matures the original intention until it becomes unrecognizable – these are the origins of the secret societies of the ancients.
Ancient Chinese texts tell us that mankind has been in this situation many times before and that their greed and ‘noise’ have caused their civilization to collapse. How close are we to doing it one more time? How ‘loud’ are we?
