I recently had the privilege of visiting Wild Rose Yoga, which is located in the magical yoga travel spot of Chiang Mai, Thailand. This charming studio serves as a haven for traveling yogis on pilgrimage to this Southeast Asian paradise. While not a yoga resort in the semantic sense, the studio offers many trainings and special events in addition to its regular class schedule. If you are planning a trip to Thailand, be sure to visit. Wild Rose will make you feel right at home, making it easy to fall in love with Chiang Mai and extremely difficult to leave.

Chiang Mai is an incredible city that must be experienced first-hand to fully understand its inner layers of beauty. Located in the north of Thailand, the city is a charming alternative to the concrete chaos of its big brother Bangkok to the south. Chiang Mai’s Old Town (where Wild Rose is located) is characterized by its laid-back atmosphere with its multitude of vegetarian and organic restaurants, quaint cafes, and laid-back watering holes. Situated in a tropical mountainous setting, the landscape surrounding the city features ancient temples, organic coffee farms, waterfalls, and elephant parks.

The lifestyle in Chiang Mai is relaxed and straightforward, as reflected in the smiling faces and warmth of its locals and visitors alike. Chiang Mai’s friendliness is contagious. You will quickly find yourself making new friends on a daily basis. In Chiang Mai, just being around another person is reason enough to start a conversation and make a new friend. This gregarious warmth extends to Wild Rose Yoga as well.

When I first arrived at the studio, I was greeted by Rosemary Bolivar, the owner of Wild Rose, who welcomed me and gave me the great tour. The studio itself is spectacular. A dark wood base adds a rustic and cozy touch to the space. I had the opportunity to experience our asana practice during a rain shower that had the relaxing effect of transforming the studio into an elemental refuge. Wild Rose also has a sauna that offers weekly “Steam and Beam” sessions where clients can enjoy scrubs and herbal masks after an invigorating yoga class.

I highly recommend Wild Rose Yoga in Chiang Mai for any yoga travel enthusiast. Stay up-to-date with upcoming events and guest teachers on the Wild Rose Facebook page, which connects yoga travel enthusiasts who have visited this great studio globally.
